I am honored to announce that L.G. Smith of Bards and Prophets has nominated me for the The Irresistibly Sweet Blogger Award! Thank you L.G., for thinking of me. Here are the rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them.
2. Include 7 random tidbits about yourself.
3. Pass award on to 3 others and link to their blogs.
4. Let the people know you've given them the award.
Radom bits about me
1. I didn't like ice cream as a kid. It still makes me super thirsty like it did back then.
2. I prefer fresh fruit over sweets. Unless, of course, the other option is 70% dark chocolate.
3. Least favorite yoga pose: downward facing dog. Favorite: any posture requiring balance. I have really good balance.
4. I drive a Subaru Outback.
5. One of my two favorite instruments is the viola. Played it for a while.
6. Growing lavender brings me joy. I don't really know what to do with chives, but I grow them anyway.
7. Spiders are never squashed in my house. If they are big and meaty, they are gently placed outside. (After watching them for a while.) The little spiders stay.
And now for the really exciting part.
(Drum roll)

I am pleased to pass this delicious award on to:
Kenda Turner of Words and Such is a writer, wife, mother, and grandmother for whom the writing bug took hold early on and won't shake loose. Her blog is always pleasant to visit.
Bryce Daniels of The Bryce Daniels Preservation Society is a pleasure to read. The comments he leaves always make me smile. Check out his blog. Follow him.
Sarah Allen of From Sarah, With Joy is an aspiring writer blogging about creative writing, and making a life and a living as an artist. And despite what you might think, I am not giving her the award just because she lists lessons we can take from Frasier. (But she is so right!)

You know, my first job was in an ice cream parlor, and I haven't been a fan of ice cream ever since. I eat it a couple times a year. I'd rather eat dark chocolate too.
Ha! Poor Bryce is getting hammered with awards. He'll have to do a Mega Post to get caught up. And probably curse the whole time he's doing it. :)
Thanks, Rebecca! I'm honored and touched. I appreciate the shout-out.
Yes, L.G. has it right. Methinks there is a project in my future. I'll start things off right here by reciting, verbatim, something from Wikipedia. You outta see me plagiarize.
A ricochet ( /ˈrɪkəʃeɪ/ rik-ə-shay) is a rebound, bounce or skip off a surface, particularly in the case of a projectile. The possibility of ricochet is one of the reasons for the common firearms safety rule " Never shoot at a flat, hard surface."
TOTALLY with you on desserts. Apples and dark chocolate are my fav dessert EVER.
But, I have to say that I LOVE downward dog, but mostly cause it's the one my kids love to do with me.
Fun stuff :D
Congrats on your award!
I LOVE dark chocolate. My favorite is Perugina. It's just so smooth and velvety.
Perugina. I will have to try it. I have a Godiva source so I usually go that route in a bind. :)
Thanks Angela.
Bryce, can't wait to see to where the awards bounce. I love finding new blogs!
L.G., I suppose that is the cost of greatness. Poor lovable Bryce.
Jolene, I like tree pose much better. And funny enough, it is one during which they don't try to climb me!
Hi Rebecca, So nice to meet you at the party on Heather's blog. I grow lavender, both Spanish and regular. I love them both. You can sprinkle chives on top of sour cream on a baked potato! Unless you don't like the taste of them. One of the other commenters about my interview today was StephaniePQW, a retired psychologist. She's getting her novel about ancient Nubia ready for publication in February, in time for Black History Month. You two might have some things in common. I hope to connect with you again.
These blog awards that go around are so cool. Congrats on yours!
LynNerd, thanks for the tip! I'll check out Stephanie.
And thanks to D.U. for the congrats.
Welcome to you both and thanks for following! Hope to hear from you again.
Hey there I came here due to you awarding Bryce the award and now he passed it to me - so the kangaroos of scrubby bush thank you (and so do I). Anyone who does't kill spiders and who loves 70% chocolate has to be worth following. I cut chives into omelettes, soups, stews, salads - great nutrient value when fresh! Great to be connected.
That's funny, Cheryl. Congratulations! I'll hop over and learn seven random facts about you! Yum, fresh chives in eggs sounds good. Thanks for the idea and thanks for visiting!!
Hey Rebecca, so nice to meet you. I received a nominee myself just today via fellow follower Bryce Daniels. I couldn't have gotten that without you, so I came here to see what the fuss was about and I like what I see. I've just joined your army of followers so you should be seeing me face around here. And we have several others in common, too, like Christine, Donna, & L.G. Good to know you!
Rebecca, thanks so much for the award--what fun! Appreciate so much your thinking of me :-) And it's also been fun to learn more about you. Lavender, yoga, and dark chocolate? Sounds like I not only can glean ideas about writing from you, but also some tips on how to relax!
Kenda, it was my pleasure. When L.G. passed the award to me, I immediately thought of you. I like your style. Looking forward to checking out your random facts.
Congrats on the award. They're a great way to find out about fellow bloggers. Great taste in chocolate, btw.
Dark chocolate = yummy!
My daughter and I were just wondering what in the world we should be doing with the lavender that's in our herb basket! :)
Congrats on the award!
Jemi, one year, I made bouquets of lavender and gave them to the women in my family. It was fun. My gramma still has hers hanging on her wall.
Interesting! And congrats on the award! I only like ice cream when it's cold outside for the same reason. When it's hot it just makes me thirsty!!
So are you the spider handler or someone from the fam?? I don't mind the small ones, I keep them in the house too... but here in FLA the big ones can get REALLY big and hideous. They get squashed. :0
I enjoyed reading your post. You sound like a nature lover. I stick spiders outside too, but I do love ice cream, and the lotus is an unnatural position...^-^...
Love these random tidbits! I hate balancing poses in yoga... Love dark chocolate. Congrats on you award!!
Congrats on the award. I love dark chocolate so anything with that is hard to resist.
I have great admiration for those who can appreciate spiders. I know they are really great and useful creatures, (I do love Charlotte's Web) but I've had arachnophobia ever since I saw the movie as a kid. *Shivers!*
Congrats on the award! I would always choose dark chocolate over fruit. And love how you treat spiders - they kill the other bugs!!!
Alison, that is what we've taught our kids. It would never even occur to them to step on one!
